Welcome to the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad
Thank you for visiting our Internet site. As a 24/7 rescue squad located in historic Hanover County, Virginia, East Hanover provides the best in patient care in an emergency "911" setting. We want to give you the opportunity to stay in touch with our rescue squad, let you know about our operations, our community involvement, and how to volunteer your time and efforts at East Hanover VRS.
East Hanover VRS was founded on July 4, 1969. The rescue squad rotates several day duty crews and six nightly duty crews for "every day of the year" coverage. Our Senior, Junior, Auxiliary, and Life Members are currently approaching 150 members, but with the fantastic growth now being experienced by the East Hanover Community and Hanover County overall, more volunteers are needed. Our bond with the Hanover Fire/EMS Department is strong as the county runs a combination system of volunteers and paid staff. The County's information can be found on the LINKS page of this website.
East Hanover is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, and our tax returns can be found by going to www.guidestar.org. We encourage the citizens of our community to take a few short moments to become familiar with the squad and its operations.
It is East Hanover's intent to connect to our community by providing you information about us, who our volunteers are, and where you can find us. EHVRS urges our community to check this site frequently and click on the links provided.

COME VISIT EAST HANOVER!
When you have a moment, and are near the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad on Walnut Grove Road, stop by and visit with us. You may call and schedule a visit as well for larger groups such as classes or associations. The knowledge given to our younger citizens about why an ambulance may be needed, empowers them to help their family and friends. Sometimes an ambulance may be scary to our youth. We at East Hanover, try to not make it so!
Pictured to the right, are the Currie family. Scott Currie and his three daughters, are learning about the response unit, what the equipment does, and why it is important to call for help in case of any emergency.
