Welcome to the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad
Thank you for visiting our Internet site. As a 24/7 rescue squad located in historic Hanover County, Virginia, East Hanover provides the best in patient care in an emergency "911" setting. We want to give you the opportunity to stay in touch with our rescue squad, let you know about our operations, our community classes and involvement, and how to volunteer your time and efforts at East Hanover VRS!
East Hanover VRS was founded on July 4, 1969. The rescue squad rotates several day duty crews and six nightly duty crews for "every day of the year" coverage. Our Senior, Junior, Auxiliary, and Life Members are currently approaching 150 members, but with the fantastic growth now being experienced by the East Hanover Community and Hanover County overall, more volunteers are needed. Our bond with the Hanover Fire/EMS Department is strong as the county runs a combination system of volunteers and paid staff. The County's information can be found on the LINKS page of this website.
It is East Hanover's intent to connect to our community by providing you information about us, who our volunteers are, where you can find us, and where you can get necessary training classes for either yourself or your company. EHVRS urges our community to check this site frequently and click on the links provided.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT - HURRICANE AWARENESS
As you are probably aware, the month of June started Hurricane Season. The national agencies have predicted that 2010 will be an extremely active season. We have already seen this year, what a Hurricane or a Tropical Storm or Depression can do to not only loss of life, but large scale damage to any given path.

This unique website will help you assemble a preparedness kit, and keep you informed of any storm situation and activity in the state. On this site, you can even have emergency statements sent to your e-mail or cell phone.
If you have any questions at all, please e-mail this website by using the Contact Us form. However, during any emergency, please call 911 first and foremost.

EAST HANOVER AT LEE DAVIS H.S. DURING FOOTBALL SEASON
Every year, the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad keeps watch during the Lee Davis High School Junior Varsity and Varsity football games. Our volunteers attend every home game during the season, having an ambulance at the games in case it is needed. The unit can be found on the school side of the field just off the end zone making access to injured players easy. The volunteers who attend these games are proud to speak about what it takes to become an East Hanover volunteer, so stop by and ask them those questions you have. They are normally busy during halftime, talking about emergency medical services or giving tours of the ambulance. To link to Lee Davis High School, click here.
The Lee Davis Junior Varsity Football Team play their games usually on Thursday evenings, and the home dates are: 9/16/10 against Hopewell, 9/30/10 against Varina, 10/07/10 against Armstrong, 11/04/10 against James River, and 11/11/10 against Atlee.
