On Saturday afternoon, March 13, 2010, the East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary held its Annual Rabies Clinic in assocation with the Hanover County Department of Animal Control. It did not rain as expected, and the sun was beginning to shine ever so carefully. The vet, Dr. Kathryn Hurley of Home Vet Care Inc., administered 494 shots in the 3 hour timeframe, to a wide variety of dogs and cats.
The EHVRS Auxiliary wants to thank all of the great people of the community who came out to our Annual Event. Your patience was most appreciated as so many animals were vaccinated. At times, the lines were long, but your spirits were high. Thanks also to the Explorers and volunteers who helped make the afternoon a huge success. Finally, the additional donations from you were appreciated, and those that completed an Application for Membership to the Auxiliary, WELCOME!

Thank you for visiting our Internet site. As a 24/7 rescue squad located in historic Hanover County, Virginia, East Hanover provides the best in patient care in an emergency "911" setting. We want to give you the opportunity to stay in touch with our rescue squad, let you know about our operations, our community classes and involvement, and how to volunteer your time and efforts at East Hanover VRS!
East Hanover VRS was founded on July 4, 1969. The rescue squad rotates several day duty crews and six nightly duty crews for "every day of the year" coverage. Our riding, junior, auxiliary, and life members are currently approching 150 members, but with the fantastic growth now being experienced by the East Hanover Community and Hanover County overall, more volunteers are needed. Our bond with the Hanover Fire/EMS Department is strong as the county runs a combination system of volunteers and paid staff. The County's information can be found on the LINKS page of this website.
It is East Hanover's intent to connect to our community by providing you information about us, who our volunteers are, where you can find us, and where you can get necessary training classes for either yourself or your company. EHVRS urges our community to check this site frequently and click on the links provided.
