East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad is proud to be a part of the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). EHVRS is a registered and certified Training Center for ASHI, holding several training courses at our building on Walnut Grove Road in Mechanicsville, Virginia. In addition, the rescue squad has the ability to hold any of these ASHI classes at your place of business.

A Basic First Aid course will be held on Tuesday evening, March 23, 2010 starting at 6:00 PM and lasting until 10:00 PM. It will be held at the squad facilities at 8105 Walnut Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. This course is an elementary training class for people in the community who seek additional knowledge on the basics in administering emergency immediate aid to fellow employees, students, teachers, drivers, etc. This class is not intended to replace any EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) course.
The cost of this course will be $10.00 and covers the printing and processing of the certification card and the student manual. Since East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad is a non-profit corporation, donations are most welcomed. This course is open to any citizen in the community and no pre-requisite is necessary.
A CPR for the Professional Rescuer class will be held at East Hanover on Saturday, March 27, 2010 starting at 8:00 AM SHARP, and lasting until approximately 5:00 PM. This course is CPR using the AED and is geared to "two person" first responder CPR. Citizens who sign up for this course will be taught at a level designed for the first responder. In addition to CPR/AED, the basics of choking and stroke first aid will be taught.
If you are a professional rescuer who is ALREADY CPR certified, and need to be recertified, please show up at 1:00 PM and attend the afternoon practicals and test.
The cost of this course will be $10.00 and covers the printing and processing of the certification card and the student manual. An Emergency Medical Technician - Basic Course will start in August of 2010, and will be taught at East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad, 8105 Walnut Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. The course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 PM until 10:00 PM, with material taught on some Saturdays from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM. Please follow this website for additional information as the months progress, and please contact the Course Instructor as soon as you can to begin the registration process.
All students who register for this important course MUST have CPR PRIOR to the start of this class!
The cost of the course is $300.00.
