RE-CHASSIS OF UNIT 14-2 IS NOW COMPLETE

East Hanover VRS has just received the completed re-chassis of its unit 14-2 to add to its fleet of vehicles in service to the citizens of Hanover County. The Executive Board of East Hanover selected the method of a re-chassis versus that of purchasing a completely new ambulance in order to save the community greater dollars. In today's dollars, the cost of purchasing a new ambulance will range anywhere from $130,000 to $160,000. A re-chassis of a unit normally will cost a rescue squad approximately $100,000 per unit.

The photos below will show unit 14-2 totally rechassied. The SAVINGS to the East Hanover community on EACH re-chassis performed by their local rescue squad is conservatively about $30,000 to $60,000. Since this is the SECOND RE-CHASSIS performed by your rescue squad, an estimated amount of $100,000 of community donation has been saved by using this process.
